Two Cities, One Purpose: Highlights from Our Kenya & Nigeria Gatherings

In between our recent site visits, our Portfolio Services team had the joy of hosting two in-country partner gatherings. Each one was a beautiful reminder of the power of community and shared purpose.

Nairobi, Kenya

In May, we spent an evening with Dandelion Africa, Clean Start Africa, This Ability Trust, and Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation for our second official in-country gathering. Our first was hosted by Bless a Child Foundation in Uganda, bringing our Ugandan partners together under one roof. The night in Nairobi was filled with rich conversation, laughter, and plenty of fun games to spark connection.

Abuja, Nigeria

In July, we gathered with WHER, Blossom Academy, WAVE, DRASA Health Trust, Gender Mobile Initiative, and Helpmum for an unforgettable rooftop evening at The Vue, complete with laughter, more games, and the kind of magical energy that leaves everyone with full hearts.

We’re so grateful to our incredible partners for making these gatherings so special, and to Petros Teka for capturing each moment so beautifully.

These gatherings aren’t just about fun; they create a low-pressure space for partners to connect and spark collaborations that strengthen our shared ecosystem. As Nafi put it,

It’s super important for us to push those connections — to encourage networking and learning from each other. We need to create spaces where partners can reflect, share feedback, and grow together. It’s really reassuring to know African Collaborative is on the right track with that.
